Sam the Cat

Sam the cat was physically moved by me and transported via our 84 Ford truck from the Rock house to my home. All of two tenths of a mile across a bumpy pasture. He did not like the ride. He rode on top of my left shoulder looking out the window. He was letting me know that he was uneasy about his circumstances by his loud meowing. But it was time for Sam to have a new home. He showed up at the Rock House about one year ago. The occupants of the Rock House fed him and two other homeless cats. The cats were fed on a special homemade platform eracted about 5 feet up a tree. This was for their safety from our sheep guard dogs eating the cat food. The other two homeless cats rambled from house to house in the neighbor freeloading food from kind hearted humans. But Sam stay either in the barn or the abandoned garage. The former occupants moved about 5 miles away. They faithfully made sure Sam had food. So Sam was relocated. I put him in a big dog cage with a barrel stuffed with hay. He had his favorite food, clean water, and his own litter box. After 2 days, I let him out. Sam was here to stay. He loves his new home. He sleeps on the glider on the back porch. His food and water is on the table under the porch. His new potty is among the daffodils. He sleeps all day and guards the house at night. He is so loveable., Sam is thirty inches long. He wiggled when I tried to weigh him. But I think he weighs about 6 lbs. Our dog, Rip is a little jealous but so far Rip is a good porch mate. The only trouble we have comes from down the hill. My grandson's Jack Russell dog Shocker loves to chase Sam up the back yard trees. I fuss at Shocker and yell at him to go home. He obeys only to return in a couple of days. It is good to have a cat again.
